Anesthesia
It is very common to be anxious or apprehensive before an upcoming oral surgery appointment. Dr. Solano has extensive training in anesthesia and will be able to determine what is best suited for you. During your surgery one or more of the following will be used to control your pain and anxiety:
Local Anesthesia
Local Anesthesia is an injection to numb the surgical area, the patient is still awake but unable to feel any pain.
Nitrous Oxide
Nitrous Oxide or laughing gas for analgesia to help relax you during the procedure can be used in conjunction with local anesthesia.
General Anesthesia
General Anesthesia or IV Sedation is the use of an injectable anesthesia via an IV to produce a twilight sleep or conscious sedation. This medication helps to reduce the patient’s awareness, discomfort, and physical responses during surgery.
Anesthesia Options
Depending on your medical history, your anxiety level, and the surgical procedure Dr. Solano will help recommend whether local or general anesthesia will be best suited for you. Hospital anesthesia and surgery are also available options.
