Exposure of Retained Tooth/Placement of a Bracket
Occasionally a permanent tooth (usually a cuspid) fails to erupt in the correct position. A surgical procedure is performed to open a window or flap to expose the tooth and a bracket with a chain attached is placed to help the orthodontist retrieve this tooth into the correct position.
